Islandia Village Hosts Memorial Day Ceremony

More than 100 attend to pay tribute to those men and woman who have served.

More than 100 residents attended the Village of Islandia's Memorial Day ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Triangle on Saturday.

The ceremony started with an invocation for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in serving the United States, followed by a various readings from village officials and local veterans. Members of the U.S. Marine Corp Helicopter Squadron 361 from Cutchoque performed a fly-over in a a Sikorsky UH-34D helicopter.
