Nov. 16: School Board, Islip and Keys To Suffolk County

Tuesday is a day full of meetings in effort to get business done before the holidays.

This Tuesday is chock full of meetings as different levels of government and organizations attempt to get their business squared away before the holidays. Suffolk County and the Town of Islip will both hold public meetings. Then Hauppauge's Board of Education will meet to discuss issues in the district.

1. Suffolk County Legislature will hold a public meeting at 9:30 in their Hauppauge offices. Legislatures will discuss the county's 2011 operating budget and several county resolutions. A second public hearing on the John J. Foley Skilled Nursing Facility will start at 2:30 p.m.

2. The Town of Islip will hold a at 1 p.m. On the agenda, is a public hearing on allowing an inpatient rehabilitation and medical center at Hauppauge's Phoenix House on Veterans Highway.

3. The for Hauppauge Union Free School District will hold its biweekly meeting at 8 p.m. Topics for discussion include student hotlines. Attend the meeting to get up-to-date on the latest happenings in the district.

4. Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy will be giving away the first every "Key to the county" this morning. Patch will be there, bringing you information on the veterans group given this honor.
