PHOTOS: Suffolk Readies to Flip Switch on Solar Carports
Solar Carports near completion in H. Lee Dennison's south parking lot, construction shifts to north parking lot.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy announce Thursday that construction of the solar carports at the H. Lee Dennison's south parking lot in Hauppauge is nearing completion.
Construction on the first of the eight planned solar carports began in August. The south parking lot will have the capacity to generate up to 2 megawatts of power. The county will shift its focus to installing the solar carports in the Dennison's north parking lot and at the North County Complex across Veterans Highway.
