Hauppauge drivers may find their morning commute more complicated as Route 111/Wheeler Road construction kicks into full gear.
Construction crews have started to move forward with Route 111 expansion in earnest, often shutting down one lane of traffic over the past week. Payloaders and other heavy equipment have been spotted along Route 111 for more than a week.
The expansion of Route 111 is tied to the Route 347 greenway project, in effort to improve traffic flow and safety in the area.
