Planning Board Hearings Postponed

Town of Smithtown officials adjourn several advertised public hearings for a later date.

Sevearl public hearings scheduled for the Town of Smithtown's Planning Board have been delayed for a later day. 

Smithtown Town officials have granted an adjournment to 12 of the 20 matters scheduled for their March 7 Planning Board meeting. The adjournments have been granted for a number of reasons from not fulfilling paperwork to insuffiencient notice to affected local residents. 

One issues that has been adjourned for a later date is the zone change application filed by FB4 Realty that looks to change the eastern portion of Town Line Road in Commack from Light Industrial zoning to Heavy Industrial zoning. A date for this zone change application has not bee rescheduled as of Tuesday.

Other issue that have been postponed are a zone change application by All Seasons Motor Lodge in Commack to go from residential to WSI zoning. Several developers are also seeking a waiver of sidewalk requirements in Greenbelt Estates in Smithtown, Prestige Estates in Smithtown, Soundview Estates in Smithtown and others. 

Smithtown Planning Board will hold its next meeting at 8 p.m. on March 21 at the Eugene Cannataro Senior Citizen Center.
