Tell Us: Potholes in Hauppauge

Snow may be gone from the streets, but potholes are opening up in its place.

Just as apples and stripped bass have their prime season, so too do potholes. They are predictable, unavoidable and a sometimes dangerous rite of passage on Long Island.

These gravelly, asphalt mini graves are the scourge of any commute, spilling coffee and jarring your teeth at every opportunity.

Snow piles are still visible two weeks after the blizzard of 2013 slammed the region. Freezing and unfreezing of asphalt creates stress. Roads also took a beating, snow plows scrapping and pounding the pavement as they cleared roadways.

The net result: The roads around Hauppauge need fixing.

Patch is on a quest to uncover the roadways and intersections with the worst potholes. So sound off in the comments section and sound the alarm. Your car – and that minivan full of kids on the way to practice – will thank you.

And don’t forget to check our Hauppauge traffic map, powered by Mapquest.

How about ALL of Oser Ave. and Adams Ave. What a complete and total disaster......it was a mess BEFORE the winter storms. What a disgrace that we pay pay and pay all these taxes and these are the conditions of our roads. Its like an obstacle course so you don't have to blow out a tire and/or bend a rim!
