Town Board Set To Award Bids for Road Materials, Settle Lawsuit

The Smithtown Town Board has released the preliminary agenda for their March 6 meeting.

Town Council members will vote Tuesday whether to accept bids purchasing street lighting materials, roadway marking materials and traffic sign materials for assorted roadway improvements. Also, board members will vote on whether to agree to a $50,000 settlement in Zulma Cortes v. Town of Smithtown.

In addition to business, Smithtown officials are expected to prepare for the upcoming parade season by granting a number of event permits for 2012, including the Kings Park Youth Baseball League's Opening Day Parade, the Smithtown Children's Foundation 5K Run/Walk, St. James Festival Day and several others.
