Vecchio Closes Campaign Office on Main Street

Smithtown Supervisor shuts down headquarters after success in Republican Primary.

A former English-style pub is empty, again, and joins the ranks of vacant storefronts on Smithtown Main Street

Smithtown Supervisor Patrick Vecchio has closed his Main Street campaign headquarters, based in the former Cyrus Place storefront, with more than a month out from the November elections.

Vecchio won the Republican Primary on Sept. 10 over his challenger, Councilman Robert Creighton, by 3,245 votes to 2,566 votes, according to Suffolk County Board of Elections. The 36-year supervisor will run against Democratic candidate Steve Snair for re-election this November.

Despite being mid-campaign season, a Realty Connect USA sign hangs in the window of his former campaign quarters announcing the storefront is available.

If only the all the candidates' primary campaign signs were cleaned up so quickly.

However, Creighton's campaign headquarters is still open just down Main Street at the former Oxford Learning Center. The 3,000-square-foot former tutoring center is listed for rent at $4,000 a month, according to Zillow.
