What Should Replace the Bavarian Inn?

Pols want new plans for ramshackle property.

Suffolk County Legis. John M. Kennedy on Monday presented the Nesconset-Sachem Civic Association with a bulleted list of possible land use options for the land sitting underneath the shuttered Bavarian Inn.

According to Kennedy, the county intends to seize back the land from the owner of the inn after they neglected to pay approximately $300,000 in back taxes.

If and when the county does take possession of the land, local civics want to be ready to swoop in and find ways to blend the property into the surrounding parkland on either side of the abandonded business.

Nesconset-Sachem Civic Association President Fred Gorman asked the audience to think about what they would like to see done with the land. We're asking likewise.

Tell us in the comments section below how you think the land would be best put to use. We'll use your comments for a wrap-up story later in the week.
