Good Weather Helps Voter Turnout

Voters are steadily making their way into Whiporwil Tuesday to cast their vote on the 2013-14 school budget.

The morning hours were slow, but turnout noticeably increased around 5 p.m, after work hours.

A poll worker who said that she has volunteered on budget day for 10 years, said that the turnout appeared higher than usual this year, and that good weather seems to be a motivating factor.

It rained last year during the budget vote, in which 2,000 residents cast their ballots.

Those who haven't voted, still have time to do so. The polls close at 10 p.m.
