UPDATE: Hauppauge Schools Closed on Thursday, Friday

Much of Hauppauge area still without power; fallen trees make travel difficult.

Thursday, 11:30 a.m. -  James Stucchio, assistant superintendent of business and operations, informs Patch that Hauppauge Public Schools will also be closed Friday due to ongoing power outages and damage from Hurricane Sandy. 

Wednesday, 4:10 p.m.: After surveying further damage on Wednesday, Hauppauge School District officials decided to suspend classes on Thursday as much of the community remains without power.

Tuesday: Hauppauge school officials made the decision to cancel classes following the damage and devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy.

All Hauppauge Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Oct. 31, as reported by News12. Joseph Salina, spokesman for Hauppauge Public Schools, could not be reached via phone and the district's website was down as of Tuesday afternoon.
