Hauppauge Schools Closed Monday

Over 2,500 homes still without power as of Sunday afternoon.

Hauppauge Schools will be closed on Monday as thousands in the district remain without power following last week's storm, as well as two of the schools in the district.

Hauppauge schools were out all last week due to the destructive superstorm.

Superintendent Patricia Sullivan-Kriss put the following message up on its website Sunday afternoon: "Due to the lack of power at the Forest Brook and Bretton Woods elementary schools, as well as the many families in the community still struggling, the Hauppauge Schools will be closed to students and staff on Monday, November 5th."
