Hauppauge's Top Graduates Offer Words of Advice to Classmates

The 2013 valedictorian and salutatorian address their peers during the school's commencement ceremony.

The valedictorian and salutatorian of Hauppauge's Class of 2013, addressed their classmates Friday in their final goodbye to the school.

As they and their classmates move on to the next chapter in the their lives, the students told their peers to grab the bull by the horns and enjoy the ride.

"The best and most enjoyable moments in life are often those that are unplanned, uncertain ad unexpected," Valedictorian Robert Black said.

Salutatorian Rocco Recee reminded his peers not to let the outside world change who they are on the inside, and that the road to success is not a straight path, but one with twists and turns to overcome.

"Learn from your mistakes -they’ll make you stronger," he said. "Never settle. Keep striving for success."
