Is the School Doing Enough to Ease MRSA Concerns? [POLL]

Officials say they are cleaning the schools, but details beyond that are few.

One day after Hauppauge school officials said they had a district spokeswoman said the school was "taking care" of the problem.

Details beyond that, however, were not provided.

The district posted a letter on its website Wednesday saying:

"In response to this, the district acted upon protocols developed to help guard against the spread of this bacterial infection including sanitizing of instructional areas."

It's the same protocol followed last school year, when two confirmed MRSA cases were discovered. In one case, after contracting the bacterial infection.

Spokeswoman Pam Donovan told Patch she could not elaborate on what type of cleaning was taking place, and what specific areas of the schools were being sanitized.

Meanwhile, parents have not received any further details.
