Last Call For Honey Hollow 50th Anniversary Bash

Organizers have extended the cutoff date for tickets in efforts to attract more alumni.

Hauppauge residents have the opportunity to relive their childhood memories by attending the 50th anniversary reunion of Honey Hollow Elementary School the The Smithtown Elks on Aug. 6.

Event organizer Paul Borowski said the reunion committee has decided to extend the offer to purchase tickets past the original cutoff date of June 30.

As of Monday, more than 30 former staff members and 50 Honey Hollow students plan to attend the event. Some of the former teachers and administrators who plan on attending include Myra Barkan, Blanche Komarek, Lillian Bowman, Julie Gannon, Al Horowitz, Suzanne Dresch, Diane Ranieri, and Honey Hollow's first principal Vincent Trinkwald.

Honey Hollow Elementary School was previously located on Old Willets Patch, before being closed in the 1970s. A residential development in the area still bears the Honey Hollow Name.

Anyone interested in attending should RSVP to honeyhollow50th@optimium.net. Tickets cost $50 per students, $40 for teachers and include a hot buffet, reunion cake, drinks, decorations, and student gifts in the form of a corsage or boutonniere for former teachers and administrators.
