Nov. 13: Run, Race, To the Drums

Saturday morning events focus on running, for fun and for competition.

This Saturday gets off to a fast start. Whether it's at the Power Of One 5K or Hauppauge's cross country teams, it seems like everybody is off and running.

1. The takes over the streets at 8:30 p.m. Register in the north parking lot of Hauppauge High School, all proceeds benefiting Rolling Thunder Special Needs Program for the first time. Read more details .

2. Hauppauge High School varsity cross country runners are going the distance, heading up to the It's sure to be a foot race. Let's go Eagles!

3. Travel to nearby Stony Brook University this evening to travel to faraway places with , as he blends taiko with drumming rhythms from his jazz background into melodies from around the world. Show starts at 8 p.m., $20 general seating with $15 for seniors and students.
