Hauppauge school officials recognized and honored those student musicians who received the top honors in New York State.
Hauppauge Board of Education recognized and gave plaques to its six All-State musicians who were invited to perform at a state level this year.
Each of these students prepared a solo audition for New York State School Music Association earlier this year. The six students chosen for All-State honors received among the highest marks in the state on their chosen audition in band, choir, orchestra or the wind ensemble.
Those Hauppauge students asked to perform at All-State included Dionna Marie DeRose, Jennifer Kim, Alexandria Merrell, Christine Phelan, Rocco Recce and Brianna Schoen.
