Hauppauge High School inducted the 2012 honorees into the high school's Athletic Hall of Fame.
Hauppauge Public School district officials honored this year's inductees in a morning ceremony at Stonebridge County Club in Smithtown Saturday. This year's class featured six athletes, one coach, a family and two sports teams who made their mark on the Eagles athletic community.
The 2012 class included: Craig Cardillo, Joan Carter, Andrew Dow, Brian Murphy, Tracy Saldinger, Dan Song, coach Pete Cisek, the Dugan family and the 1981 and 1982 swim teams.
To be considered for Hauppauge's Athletic Hall of fame, honorees must have been an athlete, coach or athletic administrator, made outstanding contributions to the Eagles sports community or be a family with two or more members participating in the Hauppauge athletic programs.
All nominees are judged based on how they meet nine criteria: varsity level competition; leadership; impact on athletic program; scholastic ability; awards and/or honors; school, county or state record holder; post-graduate image and outstanding post-graduate achievement.
