Photo of the Day: Five Students Win Business Leadership Awards

Hauppauge Board of Education recognized those who placed in the Young Professionals Annual Business Leadership Competition.

Five Hauppauge High School students were recognized as winners of the Young Professionals Annual Business Leadership competition by the Hauppauge Board of Education at their Tuesday night board meeting.

The Young Professionals Annual Business Leadership Competition is a annual program hosted by the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce at Farmingdale State College. More than 300 high school students from 14 school districts competed various business-orientated categories in this year's competition, according to the chamber's website.

Taylor Veracka was honored for her first-place win in the category Job Interviews for ninth and 10th-grade students. Ashley Harrelson and Ryan Phelan were commended their first and second-place wins, respectively, in Job Interview category for Life Skill students.

Victoria Curcio and Nicole Elkins were honored by the Board of Education for receiving honorable mentions in the Advertising Team B category.
