A Nesconset college student received a proclamation from Suffolk County Legislature for his hard work both inside and outside of the classroom.
Daniel Emerson was presented with a proclamation from Leg. John Kennedy Jr., R-Nesconset, for being selected as a recipient of the 2012 Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence from the State University of New York.
Emerson is working towards a degree in Human Services at the Ammerman Campus of Suffolk County Community College in Selden. He also serves as the president of the Amnesty International Club, has volunteered for the Red Cross, and organized the Take Back the Night Rally for the American Red Cross at Suffolk Community College.
