School District Appoints New Assistant Superintendent

Michele Rothfeld will take over as assistant superintendent for personnel and business in 2011-2012 school year.

Hauppauge Public School district formally announced that Michele Rothfeld has been appointed as the new assistant superintendent for personnel and administration.

Rothfeld has served as the principal for Pines Elementary School for 11 years. She will replace Reza Kolahifar, who resigned at the end of the 2010-2011 school year for a different jost. She starts her new position at a salary of $175,000 per year.

"I am honored to work with the entire Hauppauge School District," Rothfeld said. "I look forward to identifying the personnel needs of the district and developing, organizing and maintaining personnel programs that meet the needs of students and ensure the efficient operation of the school district."

Rothfeld has more than 19 years experience as a public school administrator. She started her career as a speech and language teacher in the Lindenhurst Public School District before being promoted to serving as an elementary school principal.Rothfeld has also served as an administrator for special services, elementary and middle school principal in the Kings Park School District.
