Tonight: Meet the Hauppauge BOE Candidates
Event will take place at 7 p.m. at the Whiporwil administration building.
Residents of the Hauppauge School District can get to know their candidates for the Board of Education during Meet the Candidates Night today at 7 p.m. at the Whiporwil administration building.
Voters will elect three individuals to the Board of Education on May 21.
Two school board members are up for re-election including current President Geri Richter and trustee Ginger Todaro.
Paul Borowski intended to run for candidacy, but withdrew his name due to personal, family reasons, he said. petitions nominating new candidates have been reopened.
Petitions for new nominations will be accepted until May 14. To file a petition, or information about the process, contact Kathy Bottner, the district clerk, at (631) 761-8207.
Current trustee Robert Schnebel will not be running for next year's board and therefore, his seat will be open as well.
The candidates include:
