Transportation Study to be Unveiled at School Budget Workshop

Hauppauge school districts will publicly discuss the results of a transportation analysis to discuss bus routes, etc.

Hauppauge school officials will unveil the results of a district transportation study at the 2012-13 budget workshop on Tuesday night. 

Hauppauge Board of Education will hold their third budget presentation/workshop in the James Baxter Board Room at the former Whiporwhil Elementary School at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Residents are invited to attend to learn the results of the district's transportation study and discusss instruction. 

Superintendent Patricia Sullivan-Kriss presented , a $1,378,439 budget-to-budget increase, or 1.42 percent. The draft budget calls for the hiring of five full-time special education teachers, resulting in the letting go of 16 teaching assistants, and the purchase of two minibuses and a maintenance van for the district's aging fleet.
