Will You Join Hauppauge Board of Education?
School officials are accepting applications to fill vacant seat until July 29.
It's time to brush up your resume if you are passionate about Hauppauge Public Schools.
Hauppauge school officials are now seeking applications from those interested in filling a vacant seat on the Board of Education.
Board trustee Patricia Lesser announced she would be leaving her position as trustee at the June 18 board meeting. She will be getting married in August and must step down as she will no longer be living within the Hauppauge School District.
The Board of Education decided to fill the vacancy by appointing someone to take over until next May's election, rather than hold a special election.
Anyone interested should submit a one-page letter of interested and their resume to the district clerk Kathy Bottner: 495 Hoffman Lane, Hauppauge, NY 11788.
Applications can also be submitted via email to bottnerk@hauppauge.12.ny.us.
The deadline for applications is July 29 at 3 p.m.
The Board of Education is expected to appoint someone to take Lesser's seat by Aug. 1.
