Baseball Booster Club To Host Outback Steakhouse Fundraiser

The Hauppauge Baseball Booster club is holding their second annual Outback lunch fundraiser this Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Hauppauge Baseball Booster Club is asking residents to grab lunch at the Outback Steakhouse in efforts to raise funds for much-needed field supplies.

The booster club is holding its second annual Hauppauge Baseball Outback Lunch at the Outback Steakhouse in Commack's Mayfair Shopping Center this Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"The team just got a new fence for the outfield, and we need to finish paying off the rest of the fence," said event organizer Bob Policastro. "We also need to get a sign for the fence and the screen for it."

The luncheon costs $20 per adult and $15 for athletes or children under 13 years old. Attendees will have the choice of a Bloomin' onion or cheese fries as an appetizer with one of four entrees: a 6 oz. Outback steak with mashed potatoes, an 8 oz. chicken Caesar salad, Wally pasta (fettuccine alfredo primavera) or a cheeseburger with fries.

Policastro said the Hauppauge Baseball Booster club is hoping to raise more than enough to cover the fence, as the high school's field is also in desperate need of new netting to prevent stray balls. It has been temporarily fixed for the 2011 season.
