Feb. 1: Swimming, Hoops, Board of Education and Winter Storms

Tuesday is a crucial day for Eagles varsity sports, who face tough competition to make the post-season.

UPDATE: Hauppauge school officials have cancelled all evening activities including the Board of Education meeting scheduled at 8 p.m. The meeting's agenda will be carried over to the next scheduled Board of Education meeting on Feb. 15, 8 p.m. 

Tuesday marks a crucial day for Eagles varsity sports, if the winter storm holds off long enough for after-school activities to occur. Both the boys swimming and girls basketball face difficult matches that could affect their standings heading into the post-season. 

1will face Connetquot in the pools, going lap for lap at 4:15 p.m. The Eagles, 4-1, after a recent loss to Sayville face a tough meet as Connetquot remains undefeated in league contests.

2. There's a fight for second place as the  defends their home court against Bellport at 6:15 p.m. The teams are ranked No.2 and No. 3 in League V with a single win separating them.
