Cheer on the Eagles at these five Hauppauge varsity sports games this week.

Despite a shorter school week due to the holiday weekend, Hauppauge's fall varsity sports are in full swing. Here's a rundown of Patch's top five picks for local sports games happening this week.

1. Hit the courts to watch at 4 p.m. Tuesday. It's interleague play as the Eagles in League I take on the League IV team. 

2. The Hauppauge girls swim team is sure to make a splash in their non-league season opener against West Islip on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

3. A neighborhood rival heats up as the in a non-league match on Tuesday at 5:45 p.m.  The coach has predicted competition will be close.

4. Can't get enough volleyball? The Lady Eagles will Dig Pink For Cancer with multiple other teams from across Long Island at their invitational meet on Oct. 1. This all day event will raise money to fight breast cancer.

5. Take a short trip to cheer for returns at Centereach on Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. The Eagles need to regain ground in Division II.
