It was a bittersweet homecoming for the Hauppauge who fell to Huntington Blue Devils, 14-28, on Saturday.
The Eagles offense was held back until the last minute of the second quarter when quarterback Cory Wood carried the ball 2 yards for score the first touchdown. The score was 7-14, Huntington at halftime. The Blue Devils came strong out of the game at half, completing several long passes and runs. Hauppauge rallied back with a nearly 7-minute long offensive push that ended Dominic Confredo recovering a fumble in Huntington's endzone for the Eagel's second touchdown.
Next week, Hauppauge (2-5) will travel to take on Comsewogue (3-4) for the last game of league play.
