Whether you're a Giants fan or a Jets fan, one thing that football fans in Hauppauge can agree on is cheering for the Hauppauge High School Eagles.
The Hauppauge football team opens its season Thursday with an away game at Kings Park at 3:30 p.m.
Hauppauge's Eagles and Kings Park's Kingsmen last played each other in September of 2013, a contest that Kings Park won, 35-7. Hauppauge finished the 2012 season at 2-6, while Kings Park finished at 5-4 in the quarterfinals of the Suffolk Division III playoffs.
Hauppauge's first home game this season is set for Sept. 27 at 6 p.m.
