Boys Soccer Goes Purple for Angela's House on Thursday

Fundraising game scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Thursday on East's turf fields.

Smithtown High School East's boys soccer team is willing to go purple this Thursday to benefit a Hauppauge non-profit organization for children.

East Bulls soccer team will play a charity game for Angela's House, a Hauppauge-based nonprofit organization that helps with medical services, treatment and housing accomodations for medically frail children with three homes on Long Island, including Smithtown and Stony Brook.

East Bulls, 5-4 in Suffolk's League III, will face off against West Islip, 1-9 in league play at 4:30 p.m. on East's turf fields.

Raffle tickets will be sold to students at High School East on Oct. 9 and 10, with tickets being sold during the first half of the game for spectators with winners announced at halftime. Prizes include a goody basket from Ragazzi's in Nesconset, a two-month membership to Energy Interactive Fitness, one month of gymnastics at Gold Medal Gymnastics in Smithtown, home goods and more.

All those who attend Thursday's game are asked to dress in purple to help raise awareness and support the cause.
