Ladies Eagles Soccer Advances to Playoffs

Hauppauge, seeded No. 6, is to host No. 11 Sachem North in the first round Monday afternoon.

Hauppauge girls varsity soccer has clinched the League record and is heading into the Class AA playoffs looking for a Suffolk title. 

The Lady Eagles took first place in League IV with a league record of 11-1, an overall record of 12-2-1. The team dominated league play winning several games by multiple goals: West Babylon, 3-0; Newfield, 5-0; ; Half Hollow Hills West, 3-0; Riverhead, 7-0.

Leading the team to victory is senior captain and leading scorer Stephanie Peragallo, with 13 goals and two assists, and Jessica Calieno, with 6 goals. Goalkeeper Diana Poulin will prove a force in post-season play, as she recorded seven shutouts in League IV play.

The Ladies Eagles enter post-season place seeded No. 6 in the Class AA tournment. The team will face its toughest competition yet on Monday afternoon as they host No. 11 seeded Sachem North, who went 7-4-1 in League I.

The game will be held Monday at Hauppauge High School at 2:30 p.m.
