Oct. 30: Football, Trick or Treat, and Get Spooked.

Halloween ever brings a classic mix of favorite fall activities.

Saturday brings a mix of fall classic events on the eve of Halloween. Whether watching the Hauppauge Eagles fight for a playoff spot or getting in some early trick or treating, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

1. Hauppauge varsity football hits the road to take on Amityville, 1:30 p.m. The Eagles carry the momentum of a two-game winning streak, with a 4-3 record, take on Amityville with a 3-4 record. A win would could give the Eagles a coveted playoff spot in a division where competition is tight, that could allow them to make a run at a title. Let's go Eagles.

2. Bring the children to trick or treat early at Safe Halloween hosted by Hauppauge High School. Starting at 2 p.m., children will be allowed to go booth to booth in the school cafeteria to receive candy and a few surprises, without worries of cars, rain or approaching strangers.

3. If you're a thrill seeker, travel to Sweetbriar Center's Halloween Spooktacular, 7 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Young children can follow an indoor path to learn about nocturnal creatures who live in the dark, while older children can venture outside to see what awaits. Bring a flashlight to enjoy the fun.

4. Check Hauppauge Patch later today for a full listing of this week's open houses. You'd have to ask the real estate agent to find out if the house is haunted.
