Route 111 Reopened Following Downed Tree Incident
A driver struck a tree in Hauppauge at Route 111 and Maple Avenue.
A Suffolk County police spokesperson said Route 111 has been reopened at Maple Avenue in Hauppauge following an accident involving a downed tree shortly after 2 a.m. on Wednesday.
A driver ran into a tree in that vicinity, causing the tree to fall across the roadway, and police closed the road until 4:25 a.m. after the county's emergency services division came to remove the tree.
The driver was uninjured.
