Boy Scout Tosses Fun Back to Hauppauge Firefighters

John Carrature rebuilds Hauppauge Fire Department substation 2 horseshoe pits for his Eagle Scout project.

A Hauppauge Boy Scout has brought the fun back to Hauppauge Fire Department's substation 2 on Terry Road.

John Carrature, a junior at Hauppauge High School, has rebuilt the horseshoe pits behind Hauppauge Fire Department's substation 2 after the previous ones were destroyed by the station's recent renovations. The horseshoe pits were a game enjoyed by the volunteer firefighters during down time.
