LI Cares Receives $3,000 Grant From Darden Restaurants

Darden's inaugural Restaurant Community Grant Program aims to help nonprofits in communities its restaurants, such as Red Lobster, serves.

Long Island Cares - The Harry Chapin Food Bank in Hauppauge received a $3,000 grant as part of the Darden Restaurant's inaugural programs. 

said the $3,000 donation from Darden's Restaurant Community Grant Program will allow the Hauppauge-based nonprofit to bring in more food and outreach its services to more families, children and seniors across Long Island. 

"We are most grateful to the Darden Foundation and to the three local Darden Restaurants that recommended Long Island Cares for this grant: the Red Lobster Restaurants in Hicksville and Ronkonkoma and the Olive Garden in Centereach. We appreciate their partnership in our mission to end hunger on Long Island," said Robin Amato, LI Cares director of development, in a statement.

Darden Restaurants is the parent company of many popular restaurant chains including Red Lobster, Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, The Capital Grille and Bahama Breeze -
