Check out what's happening around town this weekend, Oct. 25-27.

The temperatures may be falling, but there's still plenty to do out on the town this weekend. So let's take a look at a few fun events taking place around the region:

Children and families are invited to participate in Commack High School's Halloween Happening this Friday in the South Gymnasium from 4-6 p.m. Children will walk through the decorated hallways that follow this year’s theme, "Despicable Me." The tour will end in the cafeteria where participants will be able to play games, decorate cupcakes, take part in arts and crafts, and many other activities. Children can also go through a haunted house, however, it may be too scary for younger children. Parents are asked to donate $1 and a nonperishable food item during their visit.

Commack Coalition of Caring 5K Run/Walk

Red Ribbon Week serves as a vehicle for communities and individuals to take  a stand for the hopes and dreams of our children through a commitment to drug prevention and education and a personal commitment to live drug free lives with the ultimate goal being the creation of drug free America. The Commack Coalition of Caring 5K Run/Walk will take place Saturday. The free Kids’ run will start at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K run/walk will take place at 9 a.m. Click here for more information.
