Facebook Fundamentals

Are you curious about Facebook? Would you like to set up an account but don't know where to begin? In this two-part class, we'll show you how to create a Facebook account, post on your timeline, upload photos, and much more! Prior to the first class, you'll need to save a photo on a flash drive (JPEG format) that you would like to upload onto your Facebook page and bring the flash drive to class. Classical Concert at Crossroads Church

“Trio Artica” Classical Trio will perform at Crossroads Church, Stony Brook, on Friday evening, Jan. 10,at 7:30 p.m. “Trio Artica”, composed of Jinwen Tu, piano; Christina McGann, violin; and Agnes Kallay, cello are the recent winner of the 2013 Ackerman Chamber Music Competition.  

Watercolor Techniques for Beginners

Learn the secret tricks to successful watercolor painting during this weekend workshop!  On day one, instructor Joan Arazosa will teach students a variety of watercolor practices.  Her demonstration, based off of a still life, will include dry brushing, washes, glazes and wet on wet techniques. At the end of the workshop students will take home a finished watercolor painting. Sat and Sunday, Gallery North, Setauket.

On Friday head over to Is A Love Cafe in Sound Beach for its regularly scheduled Open Mic Night. Get up and perform or pop in and listen to local talent. 7 p.m.

Live Music

Acoustic Downtime will be playing at Crazy Beans in Miller Place on Saturday at 7 p.m. They play a mixture of blues, country, folk jazz and original material.

Music At The Library

On Sunday at 2 p.m. head over to the Bayport-Blue Point library for “The Great Italian Songbook.” Performed by singer/guitarist Dave Anthony Setteducati and Quartetto Ducati, features the wonderful music of Italy sung in the original Italian. Free event.

Opening Reception

Artspace Patchogue Presents "The Modern -ism's" opening reception on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 5 p.m. An exhibit that explores art from the abstract and the surreal to the conceptual and contemporary. Featuring the art of: Surrealist artist and Student of Salvador Dali, Francisco Ciccio Poblet, Hyper Realistic Sculptor, Carole A. Feuerman.
