Hauppauge Industrial Association is the voice for over 3,000 businesses. It began in Hauppauge Industrial Park when a 1978 blackout left tenants without electricity for several days, but has expanded its membership and reach to corporations across Long Island. HIA-LI has 17 committees on new membership, workforce development, sales and marketing, international trade, healthcare and more that meet on a monthly basis. The organization is well known for its luncheon mixers that allow businessmen from the industrial park and outside to network and mingle. It also hosts one of the largest annual trade shows on Long Island each year.
