Suffolk County's Women, Infants and Children (WIC) services aims to improve the overall health of expectant and new mothers with young children up to age 5. It offers breastfeeding support and nutrition education classes to help mothers make informed dietary decisions. WIC also offers food assistance by providing checks to purchase supplemental formula, low-fat or fat-free milk, whole grains, fruits and vegetables to low-income parents. To apply for WIC benefits, call the office to find the nearest center and make an appointment.
