<p>Suffolk County's Services for Children with Special Needs is a subdivision of the Department of Health. Its offices are located in the Hauppauge Industrial Park.</p> <p>Services for Children with Special Needs is a combination of three separate programs divided by age: Early Intervention Program, for children birth to 3 years; Preschool Special Education Program, ages 3 to 5; and Children with Special Needs, up to 21.</p> <p>The Early Intervention program is designed to enhance the development of infant and toddlers with delays, and make sure at-risk families get the services they need to minimize potential delays. The staff ensures that families and their children receive appropriate services and referrals. Suffolk County school districts determine the referrals and eligibility for the Preschool Special Education program. </p> <p> </p>
