Hauppauge Middle School provides an education for students in grades six through eight living in HauppaugeMore and nearby areas of Smithtown. It promotes an educational philosophy based around the "R"s of learning: relationship, rigor and relevency. The school also requires its students to form bonds with the community based on a RICE framework: Respect, Impulse Control, Compassion and Equity.</p> <p>Hauppauge Middle School is a team-teaching school that follows a nine-period schedule. It offers a student assistance program, comprehensive counseling center, intramurals for sixth-grade students and competitive interscholastic teams for seventh- and eighth-graders.</p> <p> </p>

The Hauppauge Rotary Club is a local branch of Rotary International, which was established in Chicago in 1905. ThisMore group consists of businessmen from a variety of companies in Hauppauge working to make a difference in their immediate community and the world. The Rotary is involved in Hauppauge School District's annual Safe Halloween and awards an annual scholarship to a graduating senior chosen as "Student of the Year." It sponsors a Kids ID program through fingerprinting and identification cards with the Hauppauge Fire Department.
