Hauppauge High School educates students in grades 9-12. Principal Christine O'Connor oversees the students and theirMore work, with the school's annual graduating class at approximately 400 students. It offers a wide array of academic courses, extracurricular clubs, athletic programs and volunteer opportunities to its students.

In 2010, 94 percent of its students graduated with New York State Regents diplomas or Regents Diplomas with Advanced Designation. Approximately 96 percent of its 2010 graduates moved on to enroll in higher education.

The school's mission is to develop students to their fullest potential within a safe, nuturing environment. Bretton Woods has its own library media center to encourage reading and academic research.

Enrichment activities offered include second language classes, band, orchestra, chorus, student government organizations, in addition to before and after school activities that vary on a yearly basis.

The school's curriculum is based around the Forest Brook Kids of Character Program that teaches six pillars of character education: trustworthiness, respect, responsbility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
