Fixer-Upper Home on Gibbs Pond Road [Empty in Nesconset]

Tell us what you would like to see this piece of commercially zoned land on the corner of Smithtown Boulevard and Gibbs Pond Road.

A vacant dilapidated house lies empty and aging on the corner of Smithtown Boulevard and Gibbs Pond Road in Nesconset stands out from the commercial storefronts that surround it.

The front porch of the home has yellow caution tape tied to it, broken from where it once ropped off the front door from entry. Wooden boards tacked up over the windows are blackened with age.

The house is actually zoned commercial property for sale under Brown Harris Stevens Commercial Real Estate. It's listed for an asking price of $600,000.

The property is being sold for the value of the 0.58-acre lot, as the building is at odds with its surrounding commercial storefronts. It has ample parking space off Gibbs Pond Road, to the back and side of the house.

Across the street from the property is the new l, unveiled on the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks in 2011. The memorial's new landscaping including sod, flowers and newly planted trees seem at odds with the abandoned home.
